KEEP IT CLEAN, KEEP IT KIND, LEAVE IT THE WAY YOU'DE
LIKE TO FIND IT...
Ok, so the rules are simple. We're not interested in bullies!
This forum is a place of discussion and learning. It is also a place of friendship.
If you insult, attack or degrade anyone because of what they choose to drive, their race or religion, or use profane language, for any reason whatsoever, you will be banned.
This forum has a system for banning members. And it's very simple.
There is a warning system in place. If you're out of line, a moderator can issue you a warning.
After 3 warnings, you're out of here! I think no one will disagree that it's perfectly fair that if you have been given 3 chances and you still push your luck you deserve to go. Naturally, if you behave, all warnings will automatically be removed after 90 days.
Another system we have in place to keep the peace is a Friend & Foe system. You can find this under the User Control Panel. So what you can do if you don't like someone and their posts annoy you, rather than engaging in fighting and spoiling a thread for everyone, simply mark them as a foe. With someone marked as a foe, their posts will become invisible to you. Sort of like blocking someone on facebook. I think simply ignoring someone that you don't like is more mature than having a keyboard brawl on the web.
Lastly, foul language. While many people have no problem with swearing, there is an equal amount that find it offensive. As this is an open forum, everyone needs to respect those that find it offensive. So... Keep it clean guys. There is a language block in place with commonly used profanities. If you swear, the language block will simply change it to ****. Don't even bother. If you swear with a word that isn't on the system, moderators will find it, give you a warning, and add it to the system.
You can also report posts to the moderation team. To report a post, hit a button with an exclamation button in the top right corner of a post. The moderators will have a look at what's going on, and take action if needed.
Fighting, swearing, insulting, bullying etc only makes a forum unpleasant for everyone.
Obviously we ENCOURAGE good technical debates, but there's a big difference between debating and a fight where it turns ugly. As it often does on forums. Moderators are going to have a strong hand with this.
And we're all blokes. We know once in a while guys like having a go at their mates. But again, there's a difference between friendly banter and outright insulting or bullying someone.
And that's it. I think everyone is mature enough to understand what's expected of them.
So let keep it like that.
Most importantly, have fun! Let's share, build and learn us much as we can from each other. We're all on the same side at the end of the day!
