SNOMASTER
Range of 12V fridges and freezers. In my view, the best value for money in the market.
TAKLA SEAT COVERS, LOAD-LINERS AND MATS
Not all seat covers that say ‘Air-Bag compatible’ or Air-bag Approved’, are! The tests are rigourous and expensive and few seat cover makers bother. But Takla go all the way. I’ve used them for years. My favourite are the 
waterproof canvas seat covers. They are very comfortable, I sweat less than on a nylon seatm, and far less than leather. The MakMat carpet protectors are outstanding in that they protect the entire carpeted area, as do the load-liners. I’m a huge fan. And their warrantees are the best in the business.
BF GOODRICH TYRES
Especially their AT and MT range of three-sidewall ply tyres. I have run them for a total of about 90 000 kms now, without a single puncture, even though the following trips have been completed:

2009 Across the Kalahari
2010 Across Namibia
2010 Angola
2010 Following the Okavango River
2011 North Eastern Cape
They brake well and are happy in the wet. I can honestly say, I’ve never had such good performance from any 4×4 tyres, and I’ve tried many through the years.
LUMENO LED LIGHTS
Lumeno import and side range of LED lighting, from replacement globes to stand-alone LED lamps. LED is the new technology and Lumeno and importing a well thought out range.
MADMAN ENGINE MONITORS
Originally intended for use with experimental aircraft, this unit monitors and sounds an alarm when any of the following engine perametres are exceeded:
Oil temperature
Water temperature
Oil pressure
Oil temperature
Exhaust gas temperature
Voltage (Main battery)
TJM BULLBARS
Solid, well finished, and they look great. Found in all LA Sport stores
CTEK BATTERY CHARGERS
At last, the problems of charging deep cycle batteries in our 4x4s is over. Nothing comes close. The Ctek DC-DC charger, in my first hand experience, recharges a battery much, much faster than any split charge system on
the market today, including all of them. I won’t bore you with the details, but i have pushed there units and they work extremely well. My only proviso… don’t instal it in an engine bay were the under-bonnet temperatures get too hot. The temperature sensor which regulates the current based on the battery’s temperature has been know to malfunction when the unit itself gets extremely hot. (about 70°C).
SAFARI SNORKEL
The ‘genuine article’. This is sometimes just marketing hype, but in this case, it’s not. Cheap Chinese imports are cheap because they are made from inferior plastics and as a rule begin to crack after about a year in the African sun. Safari Snorkels are also the correct size so as not to restrict air-flow as some inferior makes do.
ALU-CAB
Excellent aluminium canopies, camper conversions and roof consoles.
OZ TENT
I get given a lot of camping equipment to try, but not many products stand out as above average (although some I give right back). But in this case, I’ve kept it all. Oz Tent claim that their tent is a 30-second tent, but they are lying! It’s a 20 second tent. Absolutely brilliant! My only gripe, is that they are very bulky to carry.
